The GST Training Centre is opening applications for a limited intake of aspiring fitters ready to build a future in the engineering industry. This is not a traditional course — it’s a fully sponsored, 3-year apprenticeship designed to give you real, hands-on experience on live production floors, working alongside industry professionals and real mining machinery from day one.
Over the full three-year training period, you will develop the skills, discipline, and technical expertise required to become a qualified fitter, while earning a basic training allowance as you learn. This is a long-term opportunity for those committed to growth, excellence, and a career in mining.

Program Description
Applications are now open for the GST Training Centre’s Sponsored Fitter Apprenticeship Program, launching on 1 July 2026. This is not a short course — it is a 3-year, hands-on apprenticeship designed to develop the next generation of qualified fitters within the mining and engineering industries.
Successful candidates will gain real-world experience by working on live production floors, alongside experienced artisans, and directly with GST’s underground mining machines. As part of this sponsored program, selected apprentices will receive a basic training allowance while they learn, making this a unique opportunity to earn, train, and build a long-term career.
With only 20 positions available, this program is designed for individuals who are serious about their future and ready to commit to becoming skilled artisans.

Location: GST Training Centre, Corner of R512 and N4, Hartbeespoort, South Africa
Program Type: Sponsored Fitter Apprenticeship
Duration: 3 Years (Structured Practical & Theoretical Training)
Intake: Limited to 20 Apprentices
